But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall
come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my
Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men
shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will
pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And
I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth
beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun shall be
turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great
and notable day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that
whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. But of
that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are
in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and
pray: for ye know not when the time is. For the Son of man is as a
man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to
his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter
to watch. Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of
the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing,
or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And
what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. For John truly baptized
with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many
days hence. When they therefore were coming together, they asked of
him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom
to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the
times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the
Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after
that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses
unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and
unto the uttermost part of the earth. Immediately after the
tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon
shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and
the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear
the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes
of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the
clouds of heaven with power and great glory. The Lord Jesus
Christ... came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught
them on the Sabbath days. And they were astonished at His doctrine:
for His Word was with power. And in the synagogue there was a man,
which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud
voice. Saying, "Let us alone; what have we to do with Thee, Jesus
of Nazareth? Art Thou come to destroy us? I know Thee who Thou art;
the Holy One of God." And Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Hold thy
peace, and come out of him." And when the devil had thrown him in
the midst, he came out of him and hurt him not. And they were all
amazed, and spake among themselves, saying "what a word is this!
for with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and
they come out." Then one of the multitude answered and said,
'Teacher, I have brought You my son, who has a mute spirit. And
wherever he seizes him, he throws him down; he foams at the mouth,
gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. So I spoke to Your disciples,
that they should cast him out; but they could not.' He answered him
and said, 'O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you?
How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me.' Then they brought
him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed
him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth.
So He asked his father, 'How long has this been happening to him?'
And he said, 'From childhood. And often he has thrown him both into
the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if you can do
anything, have compassion on us to help us.' Jesus said to him, 'If
you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.'
Immediately the father of the child cried out, and said with tears,
'Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!' When Jesus saw that the people
came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to
him, 'You, dumb and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him,
and enter no more. Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him
greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that
many said, 'He is dead.' But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted
him up and he arose. Then He will also say to those on the left
hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire
prepared for the devil and his angels. And the devil, who deceived
them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimestone where the beast
and false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night
forever. Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and
blood He also Himself likewise took part of the same... Thus saith
the Lord, Write this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in
his days; for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the
throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah. Then we which are
alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the
clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with
the Lord. Behold, I show you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but
we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye,
at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall
be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this
corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on
immortality. And the seventh angel sounded, and there were great
voices in Heaven saying, "The kingdoms of this world are become the
kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign for ever
and ever." And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on
their seats, fell upon their faces and worshipped God saying, "We
give Thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art
to come, because Thou hast taken to Thee Thy great power and hast
reigned. And the nations were angry, and Thy wrath is come, and the
time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that Thou
shouldest give reward unto Thy servants, the prophets, and to the
saints, and them that fear Thy name, small and great, and shouldest
destroy them which destroy the earth." Likewise also, as it was in
the days of Lot, they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold,
they planted, they builded. But the same day that Lot went out of
Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them
all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is
revealed. In that day he which shall be upon the house top and his
stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he
that is in the field, let him likewise not turn back. Remember
Lot's wife. Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it,
and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. I tell you, in
that night there shall be two in one bed; the one shall be taken,
and the other shall be left. Two shall be grinding together; the
one shall be taken, and the other left. Two shall be in the field;
the one shall be taken and the other left. And they answered and
said unto Him, "Where, Lord?" And He said unto them, Wheresoever
the body is thither will the eagles be gathered together. I tell
you, in that night there shall be two in one bed; the one shall be
taken, and the other shall be left. But as the days of Noe were, so
shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that
were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and
giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
and knew not until the flood came and took them all away; so shall
also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the
field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two grinding at
the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Knowing this
first, that there whall come in the last days scoffers, walking
after their own lust, and saying, "Where is the promise of His
coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as
they were from the beginning of the creation." For this they
willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were
of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water
perished; But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same
word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of
judgment and perdition of ungodly men. And the Lord said unto Noah,
"Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen
righteous before me in this generation." For yet seven days, and I
will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights,
and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off
the face of the earth. And it came to pass after seven days that
the waters of of the flood were upon the earth. In the six
hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth
day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great
deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. And the rain
was upon the earth forty days and forty nights. In the selfsame day
entered Noah and Shem and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and
Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the
ark. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given
in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the
flood cam and destroyed them all. For if we believe that Jesus died
and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God
bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord,
that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord
shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall
descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel,
and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shalll rise
first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up
together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and
so shall we ever be with the Lord. And this is the Father's will
which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should
lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And
this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth
the Son and believeth on him may have everlasting life: and I will
raise him up at the last day. No man can come to Me except the
Father which hath sent Me draw him: and I will raise him up at the
last day. Whoso eatheth My flesh and drinketh My blood hath eternal
life; and I will raise him up at the last day. Martha saith unto
Him, "I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the
last day." He that rejecteth Me, and receiveth not My words hath
one that judgeth him; the word that I have spoken, the same shall
judge him in the last day. In the last day, that great day of the
feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, "If any man thirst, let him
come unto Me and drink." Also day by day, from the first day unto
the last day, he read in the book of the law of God. And they kept
the feast seven days: and on eighth day was a solemn assembly unto
the manner. Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are
Israelites born shall dwell in booths: That your generations my
know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I
brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto Me in the year. Thou shalt
keep a feast of unleavened bread: (Thou shalt eat unleavened bread
seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month
Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt; and none shall appear
before Me empty:) and the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy
labors, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of
ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast
gathered in thy labors out of the field. Three times in the year
all they males shall appear before the Lord God. For then shall be
great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world
to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should
be shortened, there should no flesh be saved; but for the elect's
sake those days shall be shortened. Then if any man shall say unto
you. Lo, here is the Christ, or there; believe it not. For there
shall arise false Christs, and false prophets and shall show great
signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall
deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore
if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert, go not
forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as
the lightning cometh out of the east and shineth even unto the
west, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For
wheresoever the carcass isk there will the eagles be gathered
together. Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the
sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the
stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall
be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in
heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they
shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power
and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of
a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four
winds, from one end of heaven to the other. And I beheld when he
had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake;
and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became
as blood; and the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a
fig tree casteth her untimely figs when she is shaken of a mighty
wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled
together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their
places. And the kings of the earth and the great men and the rich
men and the chief captains and the mighty men and every bondman and
every free man hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the
mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and
hide us from the face of him the sitteth on the throne and from the
wrath of the Lamb. For the great day of his wrath is come, and who
shall be able to stand?" But the day of the Lord will come as a
thief in the night, in the which the heavens shall pass away with
a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the
earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner
of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein
the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements
shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his
promise, look for new heavens and a new earth wherein dwelleth
righteousness. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not
willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same hope,
because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the
bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of
God, for we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in
pain together until now.
